STOT bedeutet Spezifische Zielorgantoxizität. Die Abkürzung stammt von der englischen Bezeichnung ab: specific target organ toxicity. Zielorgantoxizität ist in zwei verschiedenen Stoffeinstufungen zu finden: bei einmaliger Exposition (SE für single exposure) und bei mehrmaliger Exposition (RE für repeated exposure). STOT beschreibt allgemein Wirkungen von giftigen Gefahrstoffen auf die Gesundheit, die Beeinträchtigungen von Körperfunktionen nach sich ziehen aber nicht zum sofortigen Tod führen (nichtletal).
